Leading a large group of technology enthusiasts, embraced the opportunity to build a business around eCommerce and SAP into a thriving company.  Effectively coordinated the build of the primary IP of the company and implemented it into hundreds of businesses around the world.  Accountable for $20M yearly budget and staff of 40+.

  • Increased sales by 100%+ year over year for the past 3 years by designing and implementing platform improvement and managing the technical portions of the sales cycle.

  • Established new strategic partnerships with 3 top line SAP Customers which resulted in 50% revenue increase in a single year.

  • Architected the next generation of the core SaaS product to reduce overhead and lead times through multiple process improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and development teams to understand requirements and design scalable and efficient e-commerce solutions.

  • Leading all professional services engagements, resulting in $2 million in new revenue while growing the core integration and eCommerce SaaS platform.

  • Implemented current Agile development methodology, reducing time-to-market, and creating a sustainable, scalable deployment model that can now reach thousands of subscribed customers.

Enterprise Architect

Designed and developed eCommerce technologies, policies, standards, guidelines, roadmaps, and implemented solutions that aligned to desired customer outcomes.

  • Long term client - FocusPoint acquired MDS where I became their CTO in 2016 after years as their Enterprise Architect building their eCommerce Product.

  • Implemented over 200 unique eCommerce Solutions for Customers including several large Enterprise customers.

Heavy focus on transforming Manufacturing companies with “Brick and Mortal” Vendor networks into a hybrid Direct to Consumer (D2C) / B2B (Business to Business).

2010-2016

Horizon Health / ServiceNB

Chief Application Architect

Designed and implemented Enterprise Architecture strategies, digital transformations, and improved technology efficiency of 8 Hospital networks. Remained a Senior trusted advisor/consultant from 2016 to 2021.

  • Provided architectural oversight for development, management, and enhancement of critical Hospital / Healthcare systems.

  • Aligned IT strategy with Business objectives by improving the EA practice with the TOGAF framework to solve highly complex challenges the Hospital network demanded.

  • Continuously demonstrated the value of the Enterprise Architecture practice across the organization by saving millions of dollars over years for the network.

  • Served as a critical member of the technology strategy team that defined business process, application, and technology requirements, driving alignment between HealthCare business units and the technology groups.

  • Implemented and performed functions across 8 Hospital Networks ranging from Application Rationalization to full management of Application life cycles.

  • Reviewed and recommended improvements to existing architectural designs which included Tier 1 systems (Direct Patient Care).

  • Proposed new technologies to promote feasibility and usability of architectural components.

  • Develop technology roadmaps for items like Business Intelligence, SOA / Custom Development, Foundational Applications, Data Management, and Integration.

  • Enhance the overall EA Practice for IT Healthcare in New Brunswick.

 

Led multiple large-scale projects which included Health Clinical Information System (HCIS) upgrades and migrations. This included Meditech, Allscripts and Cerner systems.

2006-2010

JD Irving

Solution Architect

Reporting to the VP of Technology, this role was placing IT on the leading edge to provide true business transformation during the height of the last large recession.  This included a shift from traditional business models into modern, lean process driven solutions.  The company, 135 years old, was specifically at risk with the housing market crash and bold moves around execution of mobile strategies, large shipping fleet and route optimizations were just some of the highlights that I led successful initiatives.  One standout was a 2-year project to launch kent.ca eCommerce - the main Home Depot competitor in Canada.

  • Research and recommended enhancements to the architecture and technology needs of the organization based on new and emerging technologies, and assist with establishing priorities, standards, and strategies consistent with J.D Irving's Technology Roadmap.

  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions to ensure successful implementation of both Software builds and acquisitions of technology.

  • Designed an effective architecture roadmap for key product lines along with establishing architecture governance.

  • Assisted with the alignment of IT with the business through effective architecture processes.
